Originally a double-cell saddlebag house, this small frame building has undergone a series of subsequent alterations and additions which have changed its appearance significantly. One the western edge of the East End (Hampton Wedge) neighborhood, it shares the scale and simple detailing with most of the other houses in the area; modest vernacular structures occupied primarily by black laborers and their families.
